KALAMAZOO (WKZO) -- Voters in the Kalamazoo School District will be asked to approve a 62-million dollar bond issue this May to continue funding for school maintenance, upgrade of district technology and class room computers, and to complete some specific projects.
They plan to move the bus garage to a larger location, replace a 90 year old section of Milwood Elementary and add an auxiliary gym at Kalamazoo Central.
The state doesn’t provide any funding for school maintenance, only for payrolls and staff. It would cost a homeowner with a 100-thousand home about $35 a year.
