KALAMAZOO (WKZO) -- About three dozen members of the part time faculty at WMU rallied and marched on campus Thursday, protesting their low pay.
They say they are paid less than KVCC’s part-time professors, and far less than part time professors are paid at other 4-year schools.
They claim they are being exploited, because they get no benefits, and colleges strapped for funds are depending on them more and more to fill classrooms. They claim that the best talent goes elsewhere because the pay is better.
There are about 650 part time professors at WMU. They are currently negotiating with the University for their next contract.
