GRAND RAPIDS (WKZO) -- A Grand Rapids man accused of holding his mother hostage for days will stand trial.  Joshua Hoffman was deemed competent to stand trial in connection with an incident last June in which cops say he held his mother captive for more than a week at their apartment home.

Hoffman finally surrendered following a lengthy standoff with Grand Rapids authorities.  He's charged with domestic violence and unlawful imprisonment.
