KALAMAZOO (WKZO) -- The Washington Square Branch of the Kalamazoo Pubilc Library will remain closed for now after the discovery of bed bugs in books found in their return bin.
The books were bagged and disposed of before they were returned to the collection. It prompted a search by a bed bug sniffing dog, which failed to find any evidence of an infestation.
They plan to proceed as if they had found the bugs, with a heat treatment.
They intend to raise the temperature inside the library to 120 degrees, killing any eggs, later this week.
