KALAMAZOO (WKZO) -- Jury selection has been completed for the first of two suspects to go on trial for the murder of local Kalamazoo Businessman Bob Medema last summer.

It was the discovery and subsequent identification of Antonio Livingston’s Air Jordan sneakers, found abandoned outside Medema’s Oakland Drive home that broke the case open.

Livingston gave several stories to investigators, eventually admitting he broke into the home but blaming alleged-co-conspirator John Aguilar for the baseball bat beating that killed Medema.

Aguilar will be tried separately. The prosecution has a fair amount of physical evidence and a confession to work with. ‘Opening arguments are this morning.
