KALAMAZOO (WKZO) -- While there was not much precipitation in the way of snow, the transition from warmer temperatures to a sudden chill accompanied by a stiff breeze left a slick coating of black ice on area roadways Monday evening. It caused a number of slide-offs on area roadways.
Perhaps the most dramatic incident occurred when a semi jackknifed on U.S. 131 near D Avenue, blocking south bound traffic until clean-up crews could clear the wreckage. There were no reports of any serious injuries.
