BATTLE CREEK (WKZO) -- Former Congressman Mark Schauer is considering a run for governor in 2014.
Schauer confirmed he's thinking about it during a taping of the public television show "Off The Record" over the weekend and plans to make a decision next month. He added that he would be "shocked" if U.S. Senator Debbie Stabenow decided to run for the Democratic nomination.
The Battle Creek Democrat said he started thinking of a gubernatorial bid after being pepper-sprayed by police during a protest of right-to-work legislation in December.
