KALAMAZOO (WKZO) -- A 22-year-old Kalamazoo resident is dead after being hit by a vehicle near the campus of Western Michigan University.  The victim has been identified as Breeana Kay Dixit of St. Clair Shores.

The Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety says the accident happened just before 1 a.m. Sunday, and neither speed nor alcohol are believed to have been factors.  The victim had died before officers arrived on the scene.
