KALAMAZOO (WKZO) -- The Rotary Club of Kalamazoo is planning an event to host Kalamazoo Anti-Human Trafficking Coalition Director Sara Morley LaCroix this coming Monday. She plans to speak about misconceptions regarding human trafficking.
The group says human trafficking amounts to no less than modern day slavery and contrary to the belief of some, it doesn't only happen in third world countries and the U.S. itself is plagued with minors being forced or deceived into providing commercial sex acts. The discussion will focus on how the coalition is fighting trafficking in Kalamazoo through awareness, training, and providing assistance to victims.
The event will be held Monday at the Radisson Plaza Hotel from 12 to 1:30 p.m. and an RSVP is required to secure a seat.
