Detroit, MI (WQLR) – The Red Wings are now nine games into the lockout shorten season and Jimmy Howard has started every game. On Thursday night Howard will get the night off as backup goalie Petr Mrazek will make his first start career NHL start as the Red Wing take on the St. Louis Blues.

Mrazek was called up to the Wings after spending this season with the Grand Rapids Griffins. With the Griffins he was 16-7-1 with a 2.26 goals-against average and .916 save percentage. The 20-year old Mrazek was drafted in the 5th round, 141st overall in 2010 NHL draft by the Red Wings.
