Kalamazoo, MI (WQLR) -- The Central Collegiate Hockey Association announced on Wednesday that sophomore forward Justin Kovacs of Western Michigan University has been suspended for one game for actions that occurred during last Saturday’s game at Ferris State. The action was taken by the league after a review of an incident that occurred around the 3:28 mark of the third period and resulted in the player receiving a penalty for Tripping the Goalie. Kovacs is ineligible to play in Western Michigan’s game on Feb. 8 versus Miami. He is eligible to return to the lineup on Feb. 9.
Kovacs has played in 16 games this season and has one goal and five assists.
Two players from Ferris State were also suspended for actions that took place from Saturday’s game
