PONTIAC (WKZO) -- Legendary Detroit rocker Mitch Ryder and his wife are okay following a head-on crash over the weekend.
According to the Oakland County Sheriff’s Office, the pair collided with a suspected drunken driver Friday night. The 67-year-old musician was on his way home from a performance at Callahan’s Music Hall, in Auburn Hills, when the wreck occurred.
The Ryders were traveling along Kent Lake Road north of Silver Lake Road when the other driver reportedly crossed the centerline and struck them. The driver of the other vehicle, a 21-year-old South Lyon man, failed several road sobriety tests following the crash.
