DETROIT (WKZO) -- An 18-year-old Wayne County Jail inmate is accused of helping a federal prisoner escape over a week ago.
The inmate allegedly switched ID bracelets with 34-year-old Rocky Marquez, who has not been seen since he walked out of the jail January 20th. The teen had been set to be released on bond that day, and authorities say Marquez offered him a job and a place to live if he would help him escape.
Officials say Marquez escaped from an Arizona jail in May in the same manner, and was arrested January 14th in Detroit. He was being held in the Wayne County Jail as he awaited extradition back to Arizona to face charges of drug smuggling, perjury and intimidating a witness.
