LANSING (WKZO) -- Thousands of Michigan residents are likely eligible for a credit on their electric bill due to the length of the power outage from last weekend's ice storm.

The Michigan Public Service Commission allows for a 25-dollar credit for customers who are without power for at least five days.  For Consumers Energy alone, that would be over 86-thousand residents and businesses.

To apply for the credit, one needs to log on to the website of Consumers Energy, DTE Energy or the Lansing Board of Water and Light depending on one's utility provider.
