CHICAGO (WKZO) -- Gas Prices went up a little the weekend before Christmas and have really taken a leap as we head towards the New Year
Remember just a week ago gas stations had finally dropped below $3 a gallon. This morning it will cost motorists closer to $3.50 a gallon in Kalamazoo.
Chicago based GasBuddy Analyst Patrick Dehaan says we can blame a spike in the price of crude oil which is nearly at $100 a barrel, and refinery issues in the Midwest.
He expects the prices to drop rapidly after the New Year and he thinks 2014 will be a better year than 2013, with lower fuel prices.
