PORTAGE (WKZO) -- Michigan Blood is asking Kalamazoo area residents to step up and starting giving. The organization's Carolyn Wylie says that this is the slowest time of the year for blood donations, as no one's in school, and many people are just too busy.
To try to get more donations, Michigan Blood is holding a special drive at its office on East Milham in Portage on Christmas Eve, and it plans to do it again on New Year's Eve. Anyone who shows up from eight AM to 3:30 PM that day will get free passes to Celebration Cinema, along with free popcorn.
