KALAMAZOO (WKZO) -- Now open at the Kalamazoo Institute of Arts, it's an exhibit on the art work found in children's books. Fantastic Rumpus: 50 years of Children's Book Illustration opened at the K.I.A. this past weekend, and it will run through February ninth.
Beth McCann, with the Arts Council of greater Kalamazoo, says that it's the perfect thing to bring the family to on a relaxed weekend, as the offering appeals to all ages. The exhibit features children's book illustrations from 31 prominent artists working in children's books from 1963 to the present. In particular focus is Maurice Sendak, best known for Where the Wild Things Are.
