LANSING (WKZO) -- State Representative Sean McCann says that legislators in Michigan have their work cut out for them as they head into a new year. Looking back on the last legislative session, McCann thinks that there are several things the Michigan House and Senate failed to accomplish.
McCann says the concerns the legislature will face next year are mostly the same as they were this past year. Among them, he cited the high unemployment rate, education funding, and the needs to diversify Michigan's economy.
Just before the last legislative session of the year ended last week, McCann introduced a bill designed to guarantee most full time workers in Michigan a minimum of break time and days off per week. It'll be before a House committee as the new session begins next month.
