LANSING (WKZO) --KALAMAZOO (WKZO) -- Kalamazoo City Commissioners are scheduled to take public comments on their proposed budget for 2014 at their regular Monday night meeting.
It does contain some controversial elements, including further reductions to the Public Safety and other staff and Parks and Recreation fee hikes.
They spent much of Thursday going through the City Manager’s proposed budget for next year.
Mayor Bobby Hopewelll says they have all the budget motions that have to be passed on Monday’s agenda, but if residents or commissioners demand changes, they have until the end of January to take a vote on a budget plan, and it could be tabled until after the Holidays.
Monday’s meeting begins at 7 p.m.
