LANSING (WKZO) -- It looks like Michigan drivers will soon be getting a new licence plate option. The State House and Senate have both approved legislation that will create a new optional license plate intended to raise awareness of breast and cervical cancer.
State Representative Ray Franz, of Manistee County, says it's just one more way for Michigan citizens to make a difference. He also points to the fact that the program is stricly optional as a positive.
The plate will also create a special fund with proceeds to pay for further awareness and prevention campaigns. The legislation now goes on to Governor Rick Snyder.
