LANSING (WKZO) -- Governor Rick Snyder remains opposed to requiring women to purchase a rider on their health insurance policy in order for the plan to cover an abortion. He vetoed a bill last year because Senate Republicans managed to get such an amendment tacked on, and told reporters Wednesday his position hasn't changed. A bill is back before the Legislature thanks to a petition drive from Right to Life of Michigan, but if they don't act in 40 days, it will be on the ballot in 2014 for the public to decide.
