DETROIT (WKZO) -- A top labor union is furious that the City of Detroit will be able to go after pensions as part of its bankruptcy. A statement from the AFL-CIO calls that appalling and adds taking from retirees will not fix the city and sets a dangerous precedent. The union disagreed with the opinion of U.S. Bankruptcy Judge Steven Rhodes that given the scope of debt and the number of creditors, it was impossible for city officials to bargain with those who are owed money.
