DETROIT (WKZO) -- The American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees union is seeking a list of documents including text messages in their attempt to keep the City of Detroit from filing bankruptcy.
The union filed the request with a federal court for depositions from Governor Rick Snyder, Emergency Financial Manager Kevyn Orr, State Treasurer Andy Dillon and other state officials and those hired to prepare the bankruptcy case.
A total of 26 people have been served subpoenas by the union.
They want to have the documents by September 13th and have depositions three days later.
A spokesman for the Governor repeated the claim that the bankruptcy filing was the only option to resolve the financial crisis in Detroit.
There has been no word yet if the Governor and others will appeal.
