DETROIT, MI (WTVB) - Detroit may be bankrupt but at least the Motor City isn’t ranked as some might assume, as one of the top five most dangerous cities in the U.S. to live in. It’s not even in the top ten. Leading the way is St. Louis, Missouri. Author John Dellinger at Conservativepost.com used data collected by independent research firm Morgan Quitno to determine that St. Louis placed above all other areas due to its high crime rate and its chances for natural disasters. Murders, rapes and assaults were used for crime data, while flooding, tornadoes and distance to fault lines were measured for natural disasters. Rounding out the top five of most dangerous places to set up housekeeping are Los Angeles; Oakland, California; Miami, Florida and Newark, New Jersey.
