KALAMAZOO (WKZO) -- There will be a peace rally this weekend in Kalamazoo. At Bronson Park on Sunday from noon to three PM, the Occupy movement-organized rally will call for less spending on foreign wars, and more spending on citizens at home.
Raelyn Joyce, with the Kalamazoo Non Violent Opponenets to War, says they'll start it all off with a march from the federal building over to the park, where the demonstration will commence. They'll have a mock tank set up from which demonstrators pull symbolic dollar bills. They'll each have a basic human need written on them to represent what money currently given to the Pentagon could be taking care of at home.
Everyone's welcome to attend. The event is also intended to celebrate Doctor Martin Luther King.
