Detroit, MI (WKZO) – With all the injuries Miguel Cabrera is dealing with he can barely run, but boy can he still hit.

Cabrera hit a walkoff solo homer in the ninth inning, lifting the Detroit Tigers to a 6-5 win over Kansas City on Saturday night. The home run for Cabrera was his 39th of the year, as he still trails Chris Davis by five for the AL lead. Cabrera also had an RBI double in the fourth to give the Tigers the lead 4-3.

Joaquin Benoit got the win for Detroit after pitching a scoreless ninth inning. Doug Fister made the start and went 6 1/3, allowing three runs on 10 hits to go along with six strikeouts.

Prince Fielder hit a solo homerun to tie the game at four in the seventh inning and also had an RBI double in the first.

The Tigers look for the five game series win on Sunday afternoon. Max Scherzer gets the start for Detroit against the Royals Bruce Chen. First pitch is set for 1:08.
