PORTAGE (WKZO) -- The Portage Board of Education will have their Executive Search consultant Jim Morris re-open their application window for another month and hope a few qualified candidates for Superintendent apply.
President Bo Snyder says if they have learned one thing, it may take some additional persuasion to get some candidates to seek the job. .
That may not be easy. The consultant says Portage has a reputation for “media drama” and demanding parents, and says the best candidates may stay clear. That’s why Snyder says it may take more than just running an ad.
Its now back in the hands of the head hunting firm to scour their network for candidates, advertise for others and for the board to perhaps do a little one on one recruiting with in-state candidates, if its attorney says it doesn't violate the open meetings act. .
