KALAMAZOO (WKZO) -- The fundraising totals from Monday’s “Runners for Boston” events in Kalamazoo, Grand Rapids and Holland are in and there are some impressive totals for an event that was organized in less than a day.

Gazelle sports was behind these three events but there were similar ones organized by running stores all over the U.S. both Monday and Tuesday. The Kalamazoo run raised $13,600.

The runners in Grand Rapids raised $65-hundred and the total in Holland was 48-hundred.Eric Scheidel, who has been running since February to get ready for the Borgess Run-for-the-Health-of-It next month was there.

The money was raised through the sale of special T-shirts and donations, and will go to a non-profit set up by a Boston athletic association to aid victims of the bombing.
