KALAMAZOO (WKZO) -- The Pretty Lake Vacation Camp is seeking donations to help support its programs this summer. The Mattawan facility has been providing at-risk kids with a totally free summer camp experience since 1916, having served over 50 thousand youngsters in that time.
Development Director Sue Jones says that this Wednesday will be the annual "Stuff the Camper" event, when people can give things like underclothes, shampoo, sleeping bags, pillows, soap, and other essentials for these kids, who usually just come to camp with nothing but the clothes on their back.
So, on Wednesday, an RV will be parked at the Harding's on West Main in Kalamazoo for people to drop off their donations. For more information, go to www.PrettyLakeCamp.org .
