LANSING (WKZO) -- More than two thousand people took part in the Lansing Marathon this weekend in the state capital.
The start of the race began with Virginia Beard running the last half-mile of the course, symbolizing the last half mile she did not get to finish in Boston last week when the bombs went off.
Most runners say they were not deterred by the bombing. In fact, many runners wore the Boston Marathon's colors of blue and yellow while they ran in the 2nd annual Lansing event.
The Kalamazoo Marathon is scheduled for May 5th this year.
