KALAMZOO (WKZO AM/FM) — Although Earth Day is officially Sunday, many local organizations will be hosting Earth Day events a day early.
Lisa Panich with the Kalamazoo Nature Center says their Earth Day celebration will take place on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. with a long list of activities including trail hiking, creature features, crafts, open playgrounds, and more.
More information can be found at the Nature Center’s website.
In addition families can also head to Bronson Park for the “Protect our Water” Earth Day Festival.
The celebration takes place from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Saturday and focuses on protecting Michigan’s largest natural resource: fresh water.
The event includes local music, educational booths, vendors, and other organizations.
Details can be found online and on Kalamazoo’s Earth Day Festival’s Facebook page.
