BATTLE CREEK (WKZO) -- Two suspects will be in court today to face numerous charges, including kidnapping, domestic assault and firearms charges Battle Creek Police locked down a neighborhood on the City’s east side for several hours yesterday morning to take them into custody.

A 20-year-old woman claimed she was beaten, threatened with an assault rifle and held against her will at 204 East Avenue North near Pitman early Sunday morning by her boyfriend and a male friend after they got into an argument. She managed to escape and notify police.

The SWAT Team surrounded the place, brought in two armored cars, and talked the friend into surrendering. The boyfriend had already left and checked himself into motel on Beckley Road, where he was surrounded and also talked into giving himself up.

A warrant was obtained and a search of the home on East Avenue North turned up Marijuana, the assault rifle and a stolen handgun.
