KALAMAZOO (WKZO) -- Kalamazoo Public Safety and a SWAT team engaged in a standoff that lasted hours Friday morning.
They were apparently looking for 21-year-old Isaiah Casnave a man suspected in a murder of a Benton Harbor woman earlier Friday morning.
The suspect, considered to be armed and dangerous, was reportedly holed up in a home on Belmont, just off of Burdick Street. After three hours of waiting, Swat team members went in with K-9 units, but found nothing. Apparently the suspect had either fled or else was never there from the start.
Casnave remains at large. He is wanted for the shooting death of 24-year-old Tanita Broyes, his ex-girlfriend and the mother of his child, who took out a personal protection order against the suspect in February because he was stalking her and threatening her.
