Gas Prices in West Michigan about to spike because of flooding

CHICAGO (WKZO) -- If you don’t think the flooding will impact you, think again. Because of flooding in the Chicago area, a major pipeline operation was negatively impacted and that constriction of crude will mean that the next shipment of gasoline that local gas stations receive will cost them 18 cents more per gallon.

Patrick Dehaan at Gasbuddy.com says the Buckeye Pipeline in Illinois had to shut down because of the rain and flooding cutting off supplies to refineries. That could mean higher gas prices in the 10 to 25 cent range. He says it’s the first time he has heard of flooding interfering in pipeline operations.
