LANSING (WKZO) -- A Mount Pleasant state representative has introduced legislation designed to gives college students a bit of a break.
State Rep Kevin Cotter's proposed that the courts give a little wiggle room to young people who are away at college and get called for jury duty back in their home town. He says the court would allow for such potential jurors to postpone their jury duty until a more convenient time.
Under Cotter's legislation, those college students wouldn't even have to appear in court to get out of jury duty. They could have it postponed until the summer, or until they're on some other break.
