ALAMO TOWNSHIP (WKZO) -- The Alamo Township noise ordinance began with a roar and ended with a peep as the township board voted this week to drop the proposed revision and the sound tests and all the other associated proposals and stick with the noise ordinance they have, even though its virtually unenforceable.
The Kalamazoo Speedway, which may have had the most to lose if the ordinance passed, are inviting Alamo Township residents to a free night of racing on April 27th.
KALAMAZOO (WKZO) --The Downtown Kalamazoo Noise Committee has held their first meeting and it was a short one. They picked a spokesman and approved their E-mail address. They could not decide when they will hold their meetings but they were urged by a citizen to hold them in the evenings so people could attend them.
Mayor Bobby Hopewell thanked them for serving, because if the recent events in Alamo Township show, noise restrictions can evoke passion.
They will be looking at complaints about noise from the festival site late on summer nights, and other noise issues. They are tasked with getting a recommendation back to the City Commission in two to three months.
