ATLANTA (WKZO) -- The Michigan Wolverines are playing for the National Championship tonight. It’s the 6th time Michigan has made it to the finals and the first time since 1993.
That’s when the Fab Five played, but didn’t win the national Championship.
The Wolverines will play Louisville, a number one seed who lost Guard Kevin Wade to a grisly compound fracture last weekend. He will be on the sidelines.
Michigan's Tim Hardaway Junior says Louisville is a tough team, but if they can stick to “Michigan ball” they can win.
The Wolverines may be playing a long way from home in a great cavern of a basketball stadium in Atlanta, but they are not alone.
A very large contingent of MIchigan fans, many of them now living in Georgia turned out Friday and are expected to be in the stands again tonight for the National Championship Game.
Between them and the Michigan band, the players say it’s like being at home.
You can hear the game live on 1660 the Fan this evening.
