HARTFORD (WKZO) -- Van Buren County Sheriff's deputies made a sizable drug bust Thursday afternoon. The Van Buren County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Unit's been investigating cocaine trafficking in west Michigan, and it's already resulted in an arrest.
After identifying a suspicious vehicle, a deputy made a stop on a traffic violation in the 67000-block of 56th Avenue in Hartford around 2 p.m. Thursday. The driver, 22-year-old Terrance Mayes of Covert, was found to be driving on a suspended license and to have two outstanding warrants for his arrest.
A search of the vehicle turned up marijuana and Mayes was taken to the Van Buren County Jail. On searching his person, officers found a plastic bag with a large amount of individually knotted baggies of crack cocaine. They also seized 538-dollars in cash.
