DETROIT (WKZO) -- A newly restored 1877 Steinway grand piano is home in Detroit, safe and sound.
During a 2011 visit to Hitsville U.S.A. in Detroit, Sir Paul McCartney found out that the piano was no longer in working order. He decided to help fund the restoration of the piano that was used by Motown musicians as they wrote songs for Stevie Wonder, Marvin Gaye, The Supremes and other Motown greats.
The nine-foot Victorian rosewood returned to Hitsville Monday. It will be back on public display on April 25th.
