Michigan Senate Majority Leader says Emergency Manager law will be resurrected

LANSING (WKZO) -- State Senate Majority Leader Randy Richardville says if Michigan voters repeal the Emergency Manager law in November, lawmakers will get to work quickly to resurrect it.

The Monroe Republican told the Capitol Internet newsletter MIRS that they have another bill that they will take into consideration.  Right now, Public Act 4 has been suspended pending the vote, and the previous Emergency Manager law is in place.

Richardville told MIRS they may "soften" the bill if the law is repealed, but wouldn’t change the aspect that the emergency manager would have full power instead of elected officials.
