DETROIT, MI (1660THE FAN) - Justin Verlander wasn't the best he can be, but it didn't matter Wednesday night at Comerica Park. Omar Infante drove in two runs with a double and scored later in the 3rd inning, as Detroit beat Oakland for the second straight night, 6-2. The Tigers' fifth run came off the bat of Miguel Cabrera, who continued his abuse of AL pitchers, as he hit a solo shot in the 7th. Verlander collected his 15th win of the season, and with that win and a White Sox loss, moves the Tigers to within 2 games of Chicago in the division. Detroit goes for the sweep this afternoon, with broadcast time on AM 590 WKZO set for 12:40.
