DETROIT, MI (1660THEFAN) - The Detroit Tigers rode the long ball to victory Tuesday night, as they pounded Oakland 12-2. Potential AL MVP Miguel Cabrera hit two homers, including a grand slam in the 8th, and Prince Fielder and Jhonny Peralta also added homers, as the Tigers handed the A's their second straight loss. Tigers starter Max Scherzer left after two innings due to shoulder fatigue, with the team using five additional pitchers to seal the win. An MRI on Scherzer's shoulder was negative.
