KALAMAZOO (1660 THE FAN) – On the heels of his 12th career 300-plus yard performance, Alex Carder earned the Mid-American Conference Student-Athlete of the week honors. The MAC honors a female and male student-athlete weekly who carry a 3.0 GPA or higher, and are successful in the past week’s competition.
The senior signal-caller threw for 364 yards on 29-of-40 passing with five touchdowns in Western’s 52-21 throttling of Eastern Illinois in the Bronco’s home opener Saturday. A Communications major, Carder currently holds a 3.67 GPA.
