DETROIT, MI (1660 THE FAN) - The Detroit Tigers entered the weekend series against Chicago with math on their minds. Three games behind the White Sox + three wins against the Sox = tied for the AL Central lead. But as all baseball fans know, you take one game at a time...and the Tigers nabbed the 1st one, defeating the Chisox 7-4. Miguel Cabrera once again was the hitting star for the Bengals, going 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 RBIs. Octavio Dotel earned the win and Jose Valverde the save, as Detroit is now 2 games behind in the Central. Game two of the series is Saturday, with broadcast time set for 6:40 on 590 WKZO.
