LOWELL (WKZO) -- A West Michigan family says someone is taking shots at their pet chickens and cats as target practice.  The family lives near Lowell and has had one cat killed, another shot in the stomach, tires shot out in their camper and several chickens have been killed.

Stan Mendez says the chickens were bought for their five-year-old daughter and the animals had been hand-raised and tamed before they brought them home.  Within 12 hours between Sunday night and Monday morning, all but one of the chickens had been shot and killed.
