KALAMAZOO (WKZO) -- Kalamazoo County Sheriff Richard Fuller has announced his office has been awarded a 9,630-dollar grant from the National Emergency Medicine Association to purchase Tactical Trauma Law Enforcement Medical Kits for patrol vehicles.
In a press release, the department says the days of basic first aid kits are in the past for law enforcement officers, and tactical kits can help treat life threatening injuries more effectively and far more quickly. The county has trained four patrol staff to be instructors in Officer Down Response and Medical Assessment so that they can make every second count in an emergency situation.
