AUBURN HILLS (WKZO) -- A new ad from the presidential campaign of Mitt Romney says Chrysler is planning to build Jeeps in China, but doesn't repeat a claim Romney made in Ohio last week that all Jeeps will be built there.
Chrysler Group is refuting the stump claim, saying it is false, but did say in a statement it is reviewing the possibility of returning "Jeep output to China for the world's largest auto market."
Chrysler says U.S. Jeep assembly lines won't be affected, and Jeeps have been made in China before. Ford and General Motors also make vehicles in China.
