KALAMAZOO (WKZO) -- The results from this week’s mock election in Kalamazoo public schools is out and its no surprise that the Kids from a heavily democratic area went democratic in a big way. Pres. Obama beat Mitt Romney 720 to 126. In fact every democrat won, and won by a huge margin.

They defeated Matty Maroun’s bridge initiative but approved all the other issues. Supt. Michael Rice says the results weren’t why they did it. It was an exercise in civics, teaching the children the importance of voting.

Dr. Rice thanked the League of Women voters, the local clerks and the volunteers for organizing it. About a thousand High School seniors and juniors participated in the mock election.
