LANSING (WKZO) -- The Michigan Court of Appeals has overturned a lower court and ruled that only the state can regulate where gun owners can openly carry their weapons.

The two to one decision overturns the Ingham County Circuit Court which ruled in favor of the Capital Area District Library.  They filed suit after members of Michigan's Open Carry, a group of licensed gun owners, showed up at a library to talk about carrying guns in public.

Currently, guns are not permitted in banks, schools, churches, hospitals and other places but libraries are not on the list.  A bill in the legislature is looking to add them to the no-weapon facilities.
