LANSING (WKZO) -- Former West Michigan Congressman Pete Hoekstra isn't losing hope in his bid to unseat incumbent U.S. Senator Debbie Stabenow, though polls show him way behind with less than two weeks left. Real Clear Politics gives Stabenow a 52-to-39-percent lead, but the Holland Republican says his campaign's polls show the races is within "single digits."
Hoekstra is launching new television ads critical of Democrats on several issues from gas prices to healthcare, and he's counting on Mitt Romney to do well in the state to help him out. President Obama currently has a five-point lead on Romney in the latest survey by Real Clear Politics.
